Boxing Club at San Antonio College

My major project on The Ranger this semester has been producing a multimedia piece of the boxing club students training for the event that took place April 9 at SAC.

Ringside physician Oscar Gutierrez inspects the mouth of psychology sophmore Andrew Rohn of the blue team at San Fernando Gym before the boxing event Friday, April 9, in Loftin. Rohn and his brother James, dietician sophomore, fought on different teams but refused to fight each other.

Business sophomore Donald "Texas" Bradley of the blue team at San Fernando Gym warms up before the boxing event Friday. Bradley said that while he may not be a more experienced boxer, he has been street-style fighting for eight years.

Finance sophomore Jose Vargaas of the red team knocks down Chris Clark during the sixth round of boxing. Vargas, a veteran in the military, said training for the event was harder than anything he'd ever done.
Leonel Rivera-Rodriguez of the Air Force Academy is hit by business sophomore Fred Perez during the final bout in the Mall. Perez and the red team at Luna's Boxing 4 Fitness Community Center won four of the seven fights against San Fernando Gym.
